The Lone Ranger

Harshly judged by critics, The Lone Ranger is nonetheless a thoroughly entertaining film; lengthy, yes, but in harmony with the vastness of its landscapes. The western and (Tonto-inspired) comedy plotlines run parallel for a time before coming together in a rip-roaring finale.

A surprisingly cohesive animated comedy. Johnny Depp is peerless as a chameleon who, stranded in the Mojave Desert, survives his introduction to the Wild West by impersonating (blending in by way of chutzpah and bravado!) a tough hombre by name of Rango.
