Somewhat darker and less cohesive than the first series. The focus shifts even more towards the protagonists’ personal lives, affording too little screen time to the actual criminology cases (albeit that minor characters like Mrs Sneyers do come alive in the limelight).

Although the focus of this quirky Belgian drama, it isn’t criminology professor Jasper Teerlinck’s mysophobia that keeps viewers interested; it is his occasional unrestrained bouts of surreal fantasy and the more groundedly individualistic foibles of the police officers with whom he collaborates.
