Far better than Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey but still doing little to overturn the verdict that not all films need a continuation, let alone to become trilogies. Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine are best on-screen, channelling a next-gen Bill & Tedness.

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure was not a film that demanded a sequel. Bogus Journey squanders what little charm the original had (the fleeting highpoint being Keanu Reeves and Hal Landon Jr. combining to play dead Ted possessing Ted’s father). Genuinely heinous.
