The classic album played in its entirety, synchronised with a specially rendered visual extravaganza of space scenes and psychedelic sequences projected onto the planetarium’s skydome. The immersive experience makes one reflect and appreciate, 50 years on, just how innovative Dark Side was.

Drummer Nick Mason was the only member of Pink Floyd who was there for the duration. His lucidly written ‘along for the ride’ narrative presents the band history sans ego but with a concomitant sterility. Mason knows everything but remains doggedly inoffensive.

Roger Waters, not quite evergreen but certainly everpink and still a powerful presence, headed an audio-visual rock extravaganza showcasing songs from 1971 through to 2017. Highlights included a fervid repurposing of ‘Pigs (Three Different Ones)’ into a 10-minute denouncement of Donald Trump.
