The title says it all. Batman does indeed meet Wonder Woman: in a 1940s backstory then the 60s and 70s milieus of their respective TV shows. Tonally, the stories ring true, offering decent character likenesses, upbeat action sequences and wholesome colour palettes.

Comprehensively researched biography of Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston (and his extended, unconventional family), contextualised within the history of women’s suffrage and the early 20th Century feminist movement. Lepore bucks the trend by proving an able narrator of her own book.

Standard superhero fare. Gal Gadot is refreshing in the titular role, and the shift to a more female-focussed cast is to be welcomed (viva Lucy Davis as Etta Candy!). However, Wonder Woman’s escalating invulnerability deprives the film of any tension or drama.
