The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest dir. Daniel Alfredson (2009) [subtitled] Despite the bad guys being a hobble of old men, the film manages to maintain a level of suspense (almost to the point of being a thriller) thanks to acting nuances and a judicious score. A remarkably compelling end to the trilogy.

The Girl Who Played With Fire
The Girl Who Played With Fire dir. Daniel Alfredson (2009) [subtitled] Well acted but lacking the self-contained rage and dark suspense of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, this sequel constitutes instead the treading-water first instalment of a two-parter. By no means bad, it is indisputably the Empire Strikes Back of the trilogy.
