Asterix and the Griffin

Asterix and the Griffin

by Jean-Yves Ferri; ill. Didier Conrad

trans. Adriana Hunter (Sphere, 2021) [originally Astérix et le Griffon]

Ferri’s final contribution is a good one, his creative initiative in getting the story underway extending to the Sarmatian village’s warrior women and stay-at-home fathers, plus the titular griffin and denying Asterix any magic potion. Conrad takes the setting in his stride.
